Pattao Highschool,Buguey

The Pattao High School, Buguey's first public high school, was established during the administration of the late Mayor Licerio A. Antiporda, Sr., it was supposed to be built at Barangay Leron, a coastal barangay, but since the Northeastern Academy is already located along the coast it was ultimately decided to be built at Pattao to serve more students who comes from the different barangays of Buguey south of the Buguey Lagoon. More than twenty years after( from June 1979 up to January 31, 1988, the Antipordas we're out of power ), the Pattao High School Annex was established in 1994 by then Mayor Licerio A. Antiporda, Jr., students who can't afford to study at the only private high school in town had to go out of Centro to study at Pattao, and that Northeastern Academy could not possibly accomodate all, even those who can afford to study thereat. These considerations were the strongest reasons for the immediate establishment of the extension school which is now known as the Licerio Antiporda Sr. High School, and which is now serving students from the coastal barangays of Buguey. Next came the LASHS Annex at Sta. Isabel, LASHS Annex at Dalaya, and the Pattao High School Annex at Maddalero, all of which were established just recently during the term of then Mayor Lloyd M. Antiporda. All three new high schools have already graduated their pioneer students and each school population is steadily growing. Now, as to whether a progressive Buguey may not at all be correlated to the Antipordas, then, go ask the students who were benefitted, and their parents who no longer needs to spend so much for their fare just to go to school.
