Here's a trivia of the Antiporda's in Buguey politics. All along the critics and those who oppose their administration may be thinking that it was solely Buguey who taught and molded them into politics. Well they are wrong, some may know about this story but definitely not everyone of them critics knew about it. Here it is, during the first time that an Antiporda was elected mayor of Buguey in the person of Modesto A. Antiporda sometime before WWII, he met another mayor during one of the mayors convention at that time also surnamed Antiporda, im not so sure if it was Mayor Justo Antiporda, then a mayor of one of the municipalities of the Province of Rizal. Modesto Antiporda approached the mayor Antiporda of Rizal province, and much to his surprise he found out that they are related to each other. Not as distant relatives but are first cousins, their fathers are full blood brothers. They are the children of a poor couple from Vigan, Ilocos Sur who left their hometown in search for better lives. Modesto was twice elected mayor of Buguey although not consecutively. He had no son in Buguey so he helped his nephew Licerio Antiporda Sr., then a chief of police of Buguey, ran for mayor, Licerio failed at first but was elected the second time around. Modesto Antiporda however had a grandson who was once a city councilor of Quezon City, and a great grandson who is an incumbent city councilor also of Quezon City's 3rd district, both of them lawyers. So politics is in the blood of the Antipordas wherever they are. Licerio Jr. served as mayor from 1988 to 1998 then from 2004 to 2007. while Lloyd Antiporda served as mayor from 1998 to 2004, and as vice-mayor from 2004 to 2007. Licerio III the incumbent vice-mayor of Buguey and Leeve Antiporda both served as Provincial Presidents of the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation of Cagayan, Licerio III served for 3 years and Leeve for 6 years. Licerio III also served as Liga ng mga Barangay President, Buguey Chapter from 1997 to 2007.
